Audiologist and Missouri native, Michelle Smith, received both her Master of Science degree in Audiology and her Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Central Missouri. Licensed in Missouri and Illinois, she holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Michelle has more than 25 years of experience helping patients with their hearing healthcare needs working in various areas of audiology from physician-based practices performing vestibular testing, audiological testing, and excelling in dispensing hearing aids to working with children with the St. Louis Special School District. She previously worked with Sound Health Services for 10 years and is happy to return.
When not working, Michelle, a mother of two, keeps busy as a professional competitive BBQ judge for the St. Louis and KC BBQ Societies. She also enjoys playing poker and going to concerts of all music genres. Currently, Michelle is learning to play the drums–with hearing protection, of course.
“My commitment to my patients as an audiologist has always been to educate and create an environment of compassion while assessing each patient’s individual hearing healthcare needs. I invite patients to ask questions and understand the entire process of what goes into the fitting and wearing of hearing aids. It is a journey and an adventure with each patient – one that I welcome and look forward to each day.”
