Dr. Crawford earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Virginia, her Master of Science in Audiology from the University of North Carolina, and Doctorate of Audiology from A.T. Still University in Arizona. Dr. Crawford is licensed in the states of Missouri and California. She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Dr. Crawford has extensive experience in the areas of diagnostic audiology, hearing aids, cochlear implants, hearing conservation and research. She has over 20 years of experience working with individuals with hearing loss of all ages. She served as an Army audiologist in the Medical Service Corps and has worked at several nationally renowned medical centers including, House Ear Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base.
Dr. Crawford’s current focus is in the area of hearing aid technology. Her hearing aid dispensing skills go beyond fitting to the peripheral hearing loss. During remediation she maximizes the brain’s ability to process new signals from the sophisticated speech processor in the hearing aid. She strongly advocates a team approach working closely with families, doctors and therapists. Dr. Crawford’s “outcomes driven approach” provides optimal speech understanding in a variety of listening situations.
